Science and the Right to Read: A Teacher Education Program.

This article focuses on an urban field-based teacher education program which emphasizes reading in three content areas: (1) reading/language arts; (2) science; and (3) social studies. Included in the report is a summary of the program including: (1) program goals; (2) objectives for each of the three content areas; (3) text books, periodicals, and children's readings used in the program; and (4) how to select and evaluate science reading materials.
