The activities of the Industrial Campus Project (Ind-Camp), designed by Parkersburg Community College to provide business/industry plant workers with access to educational opportunities directly at the scene of their employment, are described in this report. This final report, covering activity from January to June 1978, describes project objectives which attempt to blend quality teaching with the production-oriented strategies used by industry, with the intent to improve basic and professional skills and the potential for formal lifelong learning, and to link the traditionally separate worlds of education and work. A statement of intended outcomes is included, as well as a financial update and a description of the urban, blue-collar population served. Additionally, staffing arrangements, college and community relationships, specific course activity, and planning/development directions are examined, and the project is evaluated in terms of administration, population, instruction, and impact. An addendum describes and evaluates activities of an extension period from July to December 1978, which was intended to integrate the project into the college structure and the community and insure its continued operation. Over one-half of the summary is comprised of sample project proposal forms, student data sheets, course information and evaluation sheets, and records for each participating corporation. (DR)
