An Evaluation Concept for Audiovisual Activities in the Department of Defense.
Main, Robert G.
The DAVA (Directorate for Audiovisual Activities) evaluation model was developed for the U.S. Department of Defense to generate studies, decision models, standards, and directives, with outputs coordinated by the military departments that implement the decisions through the major commands and down to the installation level. The 3-level model is designed to support a projected range of users including instructors, media developers, managers, and policy makers; it has been implemented within the existing Defense Audiovisual Information System which furnishes consolidated, comparable audiovisual management data on production output and capacity, as well as cost expenditures, and permits sharing of audiovisual resource information throughout the Department of Defense. Appendices include prior studies of audiovisual activities, definitions, a bibliography on evaluation, an audiovisual product reporting form and a facilities questionnaire, a summary annual report, specifics of the total evaluation program, and a forecast for the next 10 years.
