Viewing Florida's Inservice Education Program--Retrospectively, Introspectively, and Prospectively.
Collier, Arthur J., Jr.
The major features of the Florida plan for inservice teacher education are presented. Central to this plan is the organization of educational improvement centers not only for teachers but for all school personnel. The program was mandated by state legislation and receives state funding. This state-wide program is administered at the state level and managed at the local level. Citations of legislative statutes are given with interpretive remarks, and a discussion of the means of funding the centers is provided. The mechanism for implementing the state master plan for inservice education is presented in outline form. Trends and future developments are briefly discussed. (JD)
