Development of a Training Module to Assist Special and Regular Educators in the Design and Implementation of Career Education Programs for Exceptional Students. Interim Report, July 1, 1978 to December 31, 1978.
Johnson, Carole M.
The report discusses activities and accomplishments of a project designed to develop, field test, and disseminate a self-instructional training module to assist special and regular educators in the design and implementation of career education programs for exceptional students (both handicapped and gifted). Activities are reviewed for each of the major program objectives, such as a survey of existing training materials. The bulk of the document consists of appended materials which include the following: job descriptions and vitae for project personnel; the project's technical plan (which is made up of the project profile and a chart of the work breakdown structure); sample letters; lists of resources; and a chart outlining the audiovisual presentation on career education. An overview of career education for exceptional individuals, also a part of appendixes, examines inservice and preservice activities in terms of extent, content, and areas of exceptionality addressed; and identifies those content areas to which personnel development programs have paid insufficient attention.
