Some Observations Regarding Recent Court Decisions on Collective Bargaining in the Public Sector from an Educator's Perspective.
Anderson, Bobby D.
This paper uses recent decisions on collective bargaining involving teachers in discussing educational implications under the headings of academic freedom, freedom of speech for the teacher as a citizen, and the teacher as a role-model for students. It concludes that state legislatures should take action to provide a mechanism by which teachers can have significant input in the decision-making process and resolve disputes within the guidelines of the law.
