Teaching Texas Tots Consortium Evaluation Study.

The report evaluates the impact and effectiveness of the Triple "T" Consortium (Teaching Texas Tots) using data gathered from nine of the 14 projects, pre-post test scores of a sample of 126 handicapped children (under 2 years) from the project, case studies reports from selected families, reports of sample children, and a parent reaction questionnaire. The consortium projects generally combined home/center delivery service, with the average age of children served being 21 months, and the number of children served totaling 924 (including 118 in the 3-year and older group). Results of the post test scores of the sample children showed highly significant improvement (greater than could be expected from a growth or maturation effect). Data from individual case studies showed that even those who had made the least progress had improved in one or more developmental areas. Family case study reports evidenced many positive changes during the project. Results of the parent survey demonstrated strong positive reaction to the project. (PHR)
