Bricker, Diane; Wahlin, Linda
The document reports on a training program to equip a variety of educational personnel to deal effectively with a population of severely/profoundly handicapped young children. Section I describes the program in terms of the problem, the need, and goals and objectives (which include the development of training materials which enhance the effectiveness of personnel preparation programs for the severely/profoundly handicapped). Section II, which makes up the bulk of the document, relates the rationale, methodology, and procedures for carrying out the three program components: preservice training leading to a Master's or Specialist in Education degree; inservice training for personnel working in community settings, and development of training materials.
