The document presents the final report of an educational television series for deaf children and their families designed to: show on TV persons and situations which would enhance the self-image of deaf children, encourage activities which lead to the acquisition of language and reading skills, stimulate family interaction and interaction within the classroom, and present to hearing persons an awareness of the communication process and culture of deaf persons. Initial sections cover the background of the program, production considerations, and primary program segments. Reported among results from a program evaluation involving 67 hearing impaired children (5-14 years old) is that of the students who viewed the program all but four paid attention 100% of the time. Also presented are evaluation statistics, observations of students, evaluations by professionals and parents, and sample comments from evaluators. A major portion of the document is made up of segments from the original project application and a resource guide for the television series. (SBH)
