Wisconsin K-12 Career Education Consortium. Final Project Performance Report. Volume I of Two Volumes.

To demonstrate career education methods and procedures, seven Wisconsin school districts were chosen to participate in an incremental improvement project. Project activities were conducted district-wide and by individual districts. District-wide dissemination activities involved promoting demonstration packets and assessment/evaluation (AE) instruments; sharing methods, materials, and expertise with consortium districts and others; and publishing a newsletter delivered to Wisconsin districts and others. Additional activities included working toward self-imposed incremental improvement criteria and a common set of desired learner outcomes. Evaluation activities entailed fostering acceptance of evaluation as a tool, disseminating the AE kit, further testing of kit instruments, and surveying packet and kit users. Leadership activities included state education agencies' facilitation of consortium products dissemination and consortium help in developing administrative leadership in their own and partner districts. Two of the many individual district activities involved funding in the Eau Claire district of sixteen mini-proposals to improve self-awareness, career awareness, and decision making skills, and the Watertown district's provision of a one-week workshop for thirty-four K-adult staff members. Third-party evaluation indicated that most consortium-wide and district objectives were achieved.
