Changes in the content, scope, and methods of education--both in and outside the classroom--in the new high-information high-communication electronic world society are discussed. Specific areas of discussion are changes in work and leisure, the electronic schoolroom, a curriculum for the new world, new modes of awareness, using the electronic surround, creating and organizing new electronic education for schools and the public, a system for never-ending continuing education for the whole society, and implications and specific responsibilities for the National Institute of Education.
