The Free Market Approach to Educational Reform.
This essay discusses the moral basis for free market education, reform and market concepts, free market education's impact on democratic values, and the views of its founder. Free market education is an application of traditional American values to primary and secondary education. Through use of a voucher system, free market education awards each parent of school-age children a yearly certificate or "voucher" to cover the costs of education in whatever schools they choose. The recipient schools then turn them in for actual payment from public funds. (Author/LD)
