The American Film Institute Guide to College Courses in Film and Television.
Bohnenkamp, Dennis R., Ed.; Grogg, Sam L., Jr.
This guide contains detailed listings of courses and programs in film and television offered at 1,067 colleges, universities, and professional institutions in the United States. The individual listings indicate the type of institution, its accreditation, location, campus size, total enrollment, faculty size, calendar, grading system, number and type of degrees offered, application requirements and deadlines, available financial aid, equipment, facilities, names of faculty members, and special features that are offered. The guide also provides information about careers in film and television, organizations related to film and television education, student film/video festivals and awards, and foreign film schools. Six appendixes supplement the general index of United States schools, listing the schools by the degrees they offer, their curricular emphases, and other factors important in choosing a film or television study program. Although the guide is intended primarily to help students select a particular program, it can also be useful to teachers, administrators, counselors, and researchers interested in the various aspects of film and television education.
