Knox County Educators Guide.
Knox County Schools, Barbourville, KY.
The purpose of this manual is to provide teachers in an economically depressed rural school system with methods and techniques for implementing five mandated programs--career, character, consumer, alcohol and drug, and environmental education into the ongoing curriculum of the schools. Unit outlines are provided for each grade level from kindergarten through grade 12. Suggested reading and activities are included in each unit as well as the objectives of each subject area. The teacher is expected to teach two units assigned to her or his grade level and is free to include any other unit. Emphasis is on career choices and vocational training at the secondary education level. Available resources for implementing this program are listed, including suggested reading and audiovisual materials. (JD)
