The Fuel Savers: A Kit of Solar Ideas for Existing Homes.
Scully, Dan; And Others
This publication is a collection of solar heating ideas for the do-it-yourselfer. The ideas are presented in a clear, simple and sometimes amusing way. Although written for homeowners, these ideas may be used in businesses and schools as well. Some ideas may make good student projects. The suggestions are illustrated and their costs and probable effectiveness are given. These simple, non-technical solar energy ideas range from making and installing flexible insulating curtains and from installing passive solar heating window boxes to building an active solar trickle-type heating system and to constructing a pumped solar water heating system. A bibliography and a glossary are also included. (MR)
