Development and Validation of a Televised Test of Science Processes.
Torrence, David R.; And Others
This paper, presented at the 1978 meeting of the National Association for Research in Science Teaching, describes the development of a resource for the identification of science process skills in young children (grades 4-7). The Test of Science Processes (TOSP) of Tannenbaum was modified for presentation in a broadcast instructional television format by reducing the number of items using judges' opinions and item analysis data, and reducing the reading level of test questions. It is concluded that the Television Test of Science Processes (TTSP) provides elementary science teachers and administrators with a useful test of science processes that can be used for assessing science competencies in young children.
