Organizing and Teaching a Parent-Toddler Program.
Powell, Marian K.
This guide for teachers and administrators involved in educating parents and their toddlers emphasizes the utilization of existing school facilities to meet program needs. Section I contains a detailed explanation of the preliminary work which the teacher or administrator must complete before the first parent-toddler session. Following this explanation are sample administrative forms to use in the preliminary work, a copy of the Parents' Handbook, and a Preliminary Work Checklist. Section II contains seven activity schedules for the parent-toddler sessions. The activities included are appropriate for children varying in age from 15 to 36 months. Section III presents agendas for eight discussion sessions with parents, sample observation forms for parents to use in observing their children, and handouts for parents on child growth and development.
