Standards for Successful Mathematics Programs.
Maryland State Dept. of Education, Baltimore. Div. of Instruction.
Twenty-one standards are listed to serve as a guide for the evaluation of a school's mathematics program. The standards are grouped into four categories: (1) instruction; (2) the curriculum and instructional materials; (3) the teacher of mathematics; and (4) physical facilities and equipment. Questions following each standard provide a means by which strengths and needs of present programs may be clearly indicated. Included are sample forms that may be used to record and monitor progress toward a target. (MP)
