The Education of Gifted and Talented - A Basic Overview.

The pamphlet outlines programs provided by Bergen County (New Jersey) for gifted students. Initial sections provide information on definition of the term "gifted"; methods for identification; professional awareness and sensitivity to the gifted; and personal characteristics, strategies, and competencies of a teacher of the gifted. A final section reviews program strategies for gifted students from grades K through 11, including such alternatives as early admission to kindergarten, open ended curricula, and college courses and seminars.
