Inservice Education Programs for Coaches.
Jeppson, Gordon D.
School administrators are often faced with the necessity of employing nonschool personnel to staff the athletic program fully. This publication provides some ideas, sample regulations, and model programs that can be used to give coaches basic minimal competencies for the role they may be asked to assume. Sample regulations that govern the employment of nonschool personnel as coaches are outlined. Model preservice and inservice education programs from 11 school systems are described as examples of inservice training that may be of use to administrators considering adapting them to their own settings.
