The document, part of a series of committee reports relating to school band performance, organization, and equipment needs, provides a comparative analysis of elementary band methods and instructional materials. The major objective of the report is to provide assistance to band directors as they select materials and methods suitable to their own and their students' needs. For each of the 20 methods and instructional materials, information is given on title, author, publisher, and major objective. One table is devoted to comparative analysis of the conductors' books produced by the 20 publishers.
