Marketing and Distributive Education Curriculum Planning Guide.

This planning guide in marketing and distributive education is designed to provide the curriculum coordinator and instructor with a basis for planning a comprehensive program in the career field of marketing. Such programs require competencies in sales, sales promotion, buying, transporting, storing, financing, marketing research, and management. The guide provides information in the following areas: need and scope of comprehensive marketing and distributive education programs; the competency-based curriculum; the secondary school curriculum; articulation; community college curriculum; and the program planning process. Eight curriculum guides have been developed to be used in conjunction with this planning guide and cover the following career areas: general marketing; general retail merchandising; food marketing; wholesaling; small business ownership and management; clothing apparel and accessories merchandising; home furnishings merchandising; and lodging-recreation and tourism (hospitality).
