Description of Selection Guidelines: Descriptions of Guidelines, Training Materials, and Consumer-Oriented Catalogs To Be Used in the Selection of Instructional Materials. Product 4.
Educational Products Information Exchange Inst., Stony Brook, NY.
This catalog contains descriptions of selected guidelines, training materials, and consumer oriented catalogs, designed to be used in the selection of instructional materials. Each listing contains the following information: (1) title, (2) date, (3) developer, (4) availability/source, (5) cost, (6) audience, and (7) contents/purpose. The descriptions are divided into three main categories: (1) general purpose guidelines and training materials, (2) guides focusing on the specific criteria of social fairness and cost effectiveness, and (3) consumer catalogs for use in selecting materials by format, content area, and user group. This is the fourth publication resulting from an EPIE (Educational Products Information Exchange) project investigating the criteria used to select instructional materials. It is expected that this publication will not only be useful in the selection process, but also in defining selection criteria, developing selection procedures, and investigating product selection activities.
