Appropriate subject headings were developed for Oklahoma government agencies in conjunction with the cataloging of 1,000 Oklahoma state publications. The Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (AACR) were followed as closely as possible, although in some instances established headings which were not in conformity with AACR were retained. Appropriate "see" and "see also" references were included, particularly to provide links between earlier and later names of the same agency. The list is not intended to be all inclusive, but only to reflect the names which were used in the cataloging project, with a few additions. (Author)
