Relevance Revisited: Curriculum Development in the Humanities. No. III: Humanists and Policy Studies.
French, Roderick S., Ed.
Papers presented at a March 1977 workshop that examined issues raised by the participation of academic humanists and other humanistically oriented academics in policy research and teaching are provided. Section I contains three background papers: "The Humanist, Technology, and Policy Studies," by Joseph W. Slade; "The Relevance of the Humanities to the Policy-Making Process," by Robert J. Baum; and "Comprehensive Evaluation Research and Its Dependence on Both Humanistic and Empiricist Perspectives," by Thomas D. Cook and Fay Lomax Cook. Section II includes 11 papers prepared by George Washington University faculty and administrators that describe particular degree programs, report on specific courses in the policy field, and provide personal statements by faculty who have been involved in this academic area.
