An Examination of the Self Report Status and Effectiveness of Faculty Development Functions at Higher Educational Institutions Within the United States.
Jordan, Thomas S.
Many unanswered questions exist as to the functions considered most important and effective in achieving the goals of a faculty development center, where efforts are directed, and any existing relationships between faculty development centers and institutional characteristics. In September 1977 a study was undertaken to examine some of these topics, to interpret the existing patterns of faculty development in terms of costs, resources, and impact. Faculty development centers were surveyed, and the findings are presented and analyzed in detail. (Author/MSE)
