Teaching Strategies and the Classroom.

The concepts of teaching, teaching goals, and teaching strategy are defined. A taxonomy relating goals teachers have for students and the teaching strategies they employ to elicit those goals are presented, as well as a brief description of each of the strategies. The six goals identified in the teaching process are: (1) acquire information; (2) develop concepts; (3) develop skills; (4) develop awareness; (5) develop inquiry strategies; and (6) express and discuss opinions and ideas.
