As the fifth and last survey of fall 1975 entering students in Hawaii community colleges who discontinued their enrollment, this report summarizes questionnaire responses of 159 (48% of sample reporting) students who enrolled through fall 1977 but did not enroll in spring 1978. The survey elicited their reasons for non-continuance, spring 1978 activities, and future plans, and provided them an opportunity to evaluate their college experiences. Survey results indicated: (1) the main reasons for non-continuance were transfer to another college (31%), personal considerations (15%), and unavailability of desired classes (12%); (2) 61% of non-continuers were working during spring 1978, while 30% were attending other schools; (3) the majority of working respondents were in sales/clerical or service positions not related to their college majors; (4) 58% planned to continue their education in fall 1978; and (5) respondents expressed general satisfaction with their college experiences. Findings were compared with those from spring 1976, fall 1976, spring 1977, and fall 1977 surveys and were seen to differ little from previous survey results.
