To Improve Instruction. ERIC/Higher Education Research Report Number 2, 1978.
Cole, Charles C., Jr.
A review of the literature on improving college instruction and improving college and university instructors produces two conflicting reactions. First, there are many fascinating and encouraging innovations being undertaken to raise the quality of college teaching. Second, although there has been change in higher education, it has not been extensive enough, and there continue to be deterrents to more extensive instructional reform. What are required now are institutional renewal, faculty and administrative renewal, and student renewal: in short, widespread transformation of higher education. (MSE)
