Contained in this publication are activity units for grades five and six on the following topics: the individual and his environments, world of work, self, economics, education and training, employability and work adjustment, and vocational decision making. Each unit gives developmental objectives, related behavioral objectives, suggested activities, sample lessons, materials, and procedures. For example, under the topic World of Work is found a unit called varieties of work. This unit is designed to develop an awareness of classifications of occupations. Two of five suggested activities are the following: make a list of unusual jobs of men and women, then expand the list to a scrapbook of pictures, drawings, and narrations; role play the head of a company, and dramatize problem situations such as strikes or equipment needed that hasn't arrived. The sample lesson given involves classifying jobs found in the telephone book. (BB)
