Career Education Curriculum Materials Guide.
Kaplan, Carol B.
This guide for using the Comprehensive Career Education Model (CCEM), which consists of 131 units developed under the rubric of the "school-based" model at the Ohio State University Center for Vocational Education, is intended to provide a brief background to the curriculum and its elements so that the user can decide how existing program needs can be met by implementing the CCEM curriculum. Chapter 1 presents an overview of the CCEM products; chapter 2 discusses use of the materials. Chapter 3 describes the CCEM curriculum in terms of the development cycle, topics and sequence, and features of the modules. Chapter 4 presents guidelines for teachers in determining which modules to use in their classrooms and also suggests various strategies and approaches to instruction. Chapter 5 is addressed to the school or district level administrator considering comprehensive or partial use of the CCEM materials, and discusses needs, compatibility, key support, initial planning, and installation. Chapter 6 provides four examples of alternative strategies for utilizing the CCEM modules. The appendix presents a list of module titles in the program. (TA)
