The City-Wide Educational Coalition was founded to serve the needs of parents working to effect major change in the Boston school system. An account of the program activities of the Coalition during the 1976-77 school year is presented in this document. The responsibilities and work of various projects are described. Staff members of the projects are listed and their job responsibilities are reviewed. The major strength of the Technical Assistance Project is identified as the delivery of services to teachers, parents and community members on issues such as Chapter 636, Promotional Rating and Chapter 766. The effectiveness of these services is assessed. Activities of the Field Staff Project are described in terms of parent participation at the individual school level. The roles of the different District Coordinators are explained. The goals, objectives and accomplishments of the Public Information Project are also outlined. A list of the documents distributed to the public is provided. In addition, a study undertaken by the Parent/Agency Liaison Project on the status of each school's Racial Ethnic Parent Council is discussed. Also included in this document are financial statements for fiscal years ending June 1976, and March 1977, and a statement of the Executive Director of the Coalition on educational reform and progress in Boston.
