Teaching Physical Education in the Secondary Schools.
Lindeburg, Franklin A.
This book, based upon the unit plan of teaching, is designed as a guide for the physical education teacher who must teach an activity in an area in which (s)he is not expert. It is divided into three sections: the student-teacher relationship; the teacher-learner process; and the teacher-student classroom learning situation. Section One presents a philosophy of teaching, examines teacher responsibilities, and discusses individual pupil differences and their effect upon physical education. Part Two discusses standard procedures, principles of classroom organization, and teaching methods. Part Three investigates the foundations of unit instruction, development of teaching units, and sample units for badminton, golf, soccer, and volleyball. (MJB)
