The Residential Leadership Series (An Ongoing Inservice Design for Educators).
Riegle, Jack D.; Mauth, Lester
The Residential Leadership Series at Ball State University consists of six weekend sessions scheduled over the school year. It provides an inservice education vehicle for members of the total spectrum of school personnel who wish to keep knowledgeable about trends, new information, and innovative practices related to administrative and leadership responsibilities in public education. The Series format is designed to be responsive to self-determined interests and needs of participants. It is structured to be a deliberate departure from credit or other requirement oriented designs and promotes an atmosphere of academic informality adapted to mature professionals who participate voluntarily to further their own development. Participants identify twelve topics (two for each session) that are addressed by resource persons and discussed in group and general sessions. In addition, each program includes an informal "update" presentation on a topic selected by participants by a speaker who is a recognized specialist in the field. (Authors)
