This curriculum guide on the subject of nutrition is designed to aid health education teachers of students from grade seven through grade twelve. It is divided into three parts. Part one presents background information for teachers who have had no formal training in nutrition, and also serves as a review for school nurses and health educators. In addition to presenting basic knowledge for planning meaningful learning experiences, it discusses contemporary issues that are of great concern to the nutritional health of world populations. Part two is a guide for a sequential nutrition education program as an integral element in all disciplines of the curriculum for the secondary grades. In part three resource materials and teaching aids are presented. These include an annotated bibliography of books, audiovisual aids, and suggested readings from current magazines. (JD)
