This document describes a project intended to produce and evaluate approximately 50 videocassette based learning modules which would illustrate cultural, social, and psychological aspects of health and illness. The modules were intended for use by medical students as: (1) self instruction, (2) lecture support, (3) trigger films for discussion, (4) immediate playback, and (5) intensive immersion for desensitization. Included in the project description are (1) organizational issues, (2) production techniques and problems, (3) student reactions, (4) guidelines for selection of appropriate modules, and (5) evaluation experiences. Appended is a listing of titles, authors, and producers of project videocassette learning modules. (Author/STS)
