Maurer, Adah
Psychologists are scientists, practicioners and ombudsmen for the public welfare. As such they can research the unknowns about corporal punishment, take into account its deleterious effects when assessing disturbed children, and most importantly, speak out publicly regarding the anachronistic, counterproductive and possibly perversion prone aspects of this ancient custom. Examples of interventions by a number of psychologists are given as well as a failure. (Author)
