Presented is the final report of the New York Regional Direction Service (NYRDS) which provides referral services to handicapped youth and their families. Individual sections address the five program components: development and maintenance of an agency and service information base (which includes activities directed toward compiling and maintaining information on service availability in the NYRDS area); development and maintenance of client service information (which includes assessment of client needs, identification of service gaps, maintenance of client files and records, coordination of services, and followup of clients and services); advisory services (which include the involvement of consumer, advocacy groups, community organization associations, advisory boards, and others); outreach services (which include public awareness activities); and administration (which includes activities related to costs, staff development, management, and efforts not readily assigned to one or more of the preceding areas).
