State Facilitator Profile. Volume III. National Diffusion Network.
Far West Lab. for Educational Research and Development, San Francisco, CA.
In 1974, the U.S. Office of Education (USOE) created the National Diffusion Network (NDN) in order to bring together representatives of federal, state, and local agencies to promote widespread adoptions of new and innovative programs within and across state boundaries. This goal is accomplished through use of State Facilitator (SF) and Developer/Demonstrator (D/D) projects. State Facilitators provide information about D/D projects to interested educators, assist schools in needs assessment activities, and help match local needs and interests with appropriate programs. They may also provide other information services, organizational planning for change, and problem-solving help to schools. A one-page description is provided for each State Facilitator currently receiving NDN funding. Descriptions are arranged alphabetically by state. Each description provides information on project staff, special resources, outreach strategies, special emphasis, criteria for selection of D/Ds, criteria for selection of adopter districts, financial assistance policies, total budget, and contact name.
