Presenting summary and detailed enrollment data, this directory of public schools served by the public assistance program of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) indicates that as of fiscal year 1976, the total number of school districts served by the gIA was 612 with a total enrollment of 1,047,638 of which 120,497 or 12% were American Indians. Presented in tabular form, information on public schools served by the BIA is broken out into the following categories: (1) BIA Area Offices (Aberdeen, Albuquerque, Anadarko, Billings, Juneau, Minneapolis, Muskogee, Navajo, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, and Eastern Area Offices); (2) states within each Area Office purview; counties within each state; school districts within each county the local Johnson-O'Malley Committee Chairman; and statistics re: grade level, total enrollment, Indian enrollment, and percent Indian enrollment. The names and addresses of each school district are presented, and the names and addresses of each BIA Area Office are also presented in summary form.
