Librarian's Handbook for Costing Network Services.
Western Interstate Library Coordinating Organization, Boulder, CO.
This handbook, using an input-process-output model, provides library managers with a method to evaluate network service offerings and decide which would be cost-beneficial to procure. The scope of services addressed encompasses those network services based on an automated bibliographic data base intended primarily for cataloging support. Sections cover: (1) cost-benefit questions; (2) identifying objectives, constraints, and alternatives; (3) comparing alternatives; (4) introducing network services into the library; and (5) evaluating the decision.
