Descriptions of Allocated Time to Content Areas For the A-B Period. Beginning Teacher Evaluation Study. Technical Note IV-2a.
This report provides descriptive data on allocated time in reading and mathematics for grades two and five as reported by a sample of California teachers participating in one phase of the Beginning Teacher Evaluation Study. The procedures used by teachers to record information are described and data are presented for the A-B period, October to December. Class means are provided on the amount of time accumulated over the A-B period in specific content categories. Daily means and the mean percent of total time allocated to specific content areas are also presented along with teacher estimates of task difficulty. (Author/JD)
