"And Gladly Wolde He Lerne, and Gladly Teche": Desirable Values for Community-College Faculty.
Joseph, Harold J.
Community college teachers should be student-centered and should have a humanistic perspective that sees learning as possible for anyone under the right conditions, an ability to be flexible, creative, and innovative, knowledge of a wide range of teaching strategies, as well as subject matter, and an ability to communicate effectively. When a college demands these qualities in its new teachers, it will assure a future institution that is people-centered, one which lives up to the philosophical promises of equal opportunity and free accessibility.
