Solar Heating and Cooling of Buildings: Activities of the Private Sector of the Building Community and Its Perceived Needs Relative to Increased Activity.

This report is essentially a collection of information gathered from a broad cross-section of the building community that provides a description of the state of affairs existing mid-1974 through mid-1975 in the private sector of the building community with regard to solar heating and cooling of buildings. The report additionally contains information about the needs perceived by the private sector with regard to governmental actions besides research required to induce widespread application of solar energy for the heating and cooling of buildings. Following the first section that outlines the background and purpose of the report and the conduct of the study, the remainder of the report is divided into two sections: (1) Activities of the Building Community describes selected interests and projects of individuals and organizations; and (2) Expressed Needs and Concerns of the Building Community describes the nonproprietary technical information needs and the societal/institutional, building design/construction, and product design/manufacture concerns voiced by the private sector of the building community.
