Sanchez, Bonnie, Comp.
The implementation of remedial education in the community college has become more urgent with the establishment of open admissions, as is demonstrated in this annotated bibliography. Types of students, their selection into remedial instruction, the experimentation in programs, methods of instruction, and indications of program effectiveness are summarized in the introductory overview. The bibliography compiles 49 references to published and unpublished materials, and consists of eight sections: General Sources; Remedial Education; Developmental Education; Basic Skills; English, Reading and Composition; Communication and Oral Skills; Mathematics; and Science.
