Curriculum Enrollment Summary in the Public Community Colleges of Illinois: 1976-77. Volume V, Report 1.

During the 1976 fall term, the 39 public community college districts of Illinois reported a combined total of 2,959 educational curricula in 183 fields of study. Student enrollment numbered 344,601. Curriculum offerings ranged from 34 to 444 instructional programs at the district level, with enrollment varying from 1,347 in the smallest district to 108,782 in the largest. In the baccalaureate curricula (28% of enrollment), highest enrollments were in interdisciplinary studies (59,941), business (13,549), and education (5,721). Students enrolled in occupational studies (29%) included highs of 32,935 in business technology programs, 19,748 in mechanical and engineering technology programs, 16,434 in health service-paramedic studies, and 15,542 in public service related technology. The lowest total enrollment was 154 in home economics, offered by six colleges. Registered occupational nursing and police law enforcement had the highest single career program enrollments with 9,135 and 7,935 respectively.
