This brochure briefly outlines a few basic steps for school and police officials to take in developing a joint approach to problems of school disruption. Section 1, "Preventing Disruptions," consists of three parts that focus in turn on conducting a needs assessment, develping joint preventive measures, and planning for a disruption. Section 2, "Responding to Disruptions," consists of three parts that focus in turn on using school and community resources, requesting police intervention, and managing police intervention. Each part is further divided into two subsections, "What the Schools Should Do," and "What the Police Should Do." (Author/JG)
