The simulation materials in this booklet have been presented in the form of problems encountered by the elementary school consultant. Their use can be directed to serve the following objectives: (1) improve skills related to the administrative and consultative processes of decision-making, supervision, planning, and problem-solving; (2) increase understanding of the organizational and social setting in which the administrative and policy-making processes operate; (3) increase understanding of role theory and role relationships as well as interpersonal perception and cognition; (4) increase understanding of the consultative and leadership roles as part of the larger organization and system; (5) increase understanding of self and others as part of interpersonal relationships within a group setting; (6) improve skills in interpersonal behavior and in fulfilling the leadership role with respect to working with others through various models of operation; (7) improve skill in the use of various models of problem-solving; and (8) improve understanding of the consultative role within the context of the classroom, school, and school board setting.
