The second in a series, this report examines and describes (1) the overall composition of enrollments and (2) the distribution of academic and demographic characteristics of all students enrolled in U.S. medical schools in 1975-76. All data were derived from the Applicant System and the Student Record System, which are subsystems of the computerized AAMC Medical Student Information System (MSIS). Data are provided on enrollment categories (total, by school, by state, by sex), academic background, demographic information, socioeconomic background, career plans prior to admission, and advanced standing admissions.
