Exploring an Alternative to the Traditional Rationale for Curriculum Development.
Carswell, Evelyn; Roubinek, Darrell
This paper argues that many of the problems with today's school curriculum are a result of the popularity of Tyler's four-step model of curriculum development. The authors present a step-by-step discussion of Tyler's curriculum development model and its rationale and propose an alternative rationale that can produce a variety of alternative curriculum development models.
